Coffee & Construction did not start as a brand. It started as a question. Four years later, it is the longest-running workshop of its kind in Houston, the home base for first-time buyers and investors who are tired of guessing, and now it has a permanent home at The Construction Lounge. Here is the full story, including the part nobody talks about.

How Coffee & Construction Started

I am a Houston developer, builder, carpentry apprentice, real estate agent, and certified educator. I am the Managing Member of BEDDIEO Construction & Design LLC, a certified MBE/WBE/HUB/SBE construction firm. I have spent more than a decade in real estate and construction in Houston.

Somewhere along the way, I noticed a room that did not exist. First-time buyers were guessing. Investors were watching gurus on Instagram sell them courses. Real estate agents were losing deals to other agents who actually understood new construction. Aspiring tradespeople had no idea that free certification pathways even existed in Texas.

The first Coffee & Construction was small. A pot of coffee, a few people who wanted real answers, and a working developer's notebook on the table. We talked about land acquisition. We talked about funding without traditional credit. We talked about how to spot a bad new build before you sign anything. Nobody left without a next step.
